BETTENDORF, Iowa - Bettendorf police say a man whose body was found along railroad tracks on Memorial Day was apparently killed when he tried to hop a train.

Officials say 52-year-old Thomas Miller suffered a severe leg injury after he was apparently dragged by a slow-moving train.

Police consider Miller's death an accident.

Miller had a city license to panhandle and was frequently seen along Interstate 74 exit ramps waiting for people to give him money.
