RESULT: $ 84,000 (verdict) STATE: Maryland FACTS: In 1985, plaintiff, who was employed by Defendant Railroad, was riding in an equipment car when it overturned and injured his back. The following year plaintiff was in a camp car (a railroad car where employees stay when they are on location overnight) which was next to the track. Defendant railway's train went off the track and struck equipment, causing the equipment to strike the camp car. Plaintiff had been back at work for one month when the second accident occurred.
Plaintiff alleged that he sustained permanent injuries in the two accidents which combined to prevent him from working in the future.
