: Two Injured in Industrial Accident

An Industrial Accident in Murfreesboro this morning sent two men to the hospital.

Larry Key, maintenance worker at Mid-South Metallurgical Inc. on Old Salem Road, was transported to Vanderbilt University after a 1,000-pound sheet of metal fell on his leg, trapping him about 11 a.m. this morning.

Cliff Coleman, owner of the business, was taken to Middle Tennessee Medical Center after straining his back trying to help lift the metal sheet and free Key, according to plant manager Steve Jefsen.

Three workers were unable to lift the sheet metal, and a fork lift had to be used, Jefsen said.

Key was in stable condition when he was transported, though his leg had been badly injured, Jefsen said.
